'Bloody Mary, strictly vile...'
EMBURY, David A.

The Fine Art of Mixing Drinks

New York: Garden City Books, 1952

8vo, pp. 372. Original green quarter boards, lettered in green to tan spine. Printed dust jacket. Top edge Light age-toning to text block and slight wear to head of spine, but a near fine copy in a very good dust jacket, some foxing to (white) rear panel and some light wear to spine ends.

Second edition, first published by Garden City in 1948. Seven hundred cocktail recipes -- one of the key texts on the subject.

In his preface to this edition Embury writes: 'Two exotic drinks I have been criticized for omitting from this book -- one, the Bloody Mary, strictly vile, and the other, the Moscow Mule, merely mediocre.' Both are grumpily included here for the first time.
