WODEHOUSE, P.G.

Psmith, Journalist

London: A&C Black, 1915

8vo, pp. 247. Original blue illustrated boards, lettered in yellow to front panel and in gilt to spine. No dustwrapper. Offsetting to endpapers, occasional spotting and browning to edges and text margins, but a near fine copy with only the lightest of bumping to spine ends.

First edition under this title. First published in the UK in book form by Mills and Boon as The Prince And Betty in 1912, though here much revised. A serialisation of the novel pre-dates both UK book editions, having appeared in The Captain between October 1909 and February 1910, as does the US book edition, also titled The Prince And Betty, which was published some ten weeks before the Mills and Boon version.

A beautiful copy, the binding tight, the boards bright and with absolutely minimal wear.
