[pseud. AMIS, Kingsley] TANNER, Bill

The Book of Bond

London: Cape, 1965

Small 8vo, pp. 107. Original brown boards, lettered in gilt, blue and red to spine. Gilt endpapers. Reversible illustrated dustwrapper, printed on both sides. Dustwrapper designed by Raymond Hawkey. A near fine copy in a better than very good dustwrapper, just a little darkening to spine, and with a single small (8mm) and unobtrusive closed tear to top edge.

First edition.

Kingsley Amis’s spoof manual for aspiring secret agents, with a reversible dustwrapper which, when reversed, disguises the book as The Bible, ‘edited and arranged by Terence Cumberland Oates with an introduction by Clarence Bunion’.

An excellent copy.
