Margaret Braund's copy, with her ownership signature dated 1956 to front free endpaper. She taught at the Central School of Speech and Drama and at the ArtsEd drama schools in London. Her notes on the first London production of the play, directed in 1955 by Peter Hall, cover the rear endpapers: '1st night audience in London, yawns, ironic laughs, audience walking out - attacked. Interminable evening, the actors felt. [...] Peter Hall "It has no literal or final meaning."...'.
