Since 1976, the Riverside Studios has brought the best of theatre, music and the visual arts from all over the world to its theatres and exhibition spaces in Hammersmith, London. The Studios were founded in 1976 by David Gothard who, during the nine years of his administration, presented work by Samuel Beckett, Tadeusz Kantor, Dario Fo, Eugene Ionesco, Albert Finney, Hanif Kureishi, Michael Clark, the Berliner Ensemble, Le Cirque Imaginaire, Athol Fugard -- and a number of great black entertainers from the Apollo Club in Harlem, among them Adelaide Hall, Elisabeth Welch, Honi Coles, Chuck Green and Sandman Simms.

An extensive collection, and a wonderful record of some of the last performances ever given by these artists.
