8vo, pp. 180. Original pale yellow boards, lettered in red to spine. Illustrated dustwrapper, author's photographic portrait to rear flap. Boards a little dulled, but a very good copy in a very good dustwrapper with just a little darkening to spine.

First edition, INSCRIBED BY THE AUTHOR TO FRONT FREE ENDPAPER IN THE MONTH OF PUBLICATION: 'Especially for Florence Sloat, Sincerely, Langston Hughes, Westport, Oct. 30 1965!'.

A very good copy of the last title in Hughes' series about Simple, Harlem's black Everyman, and scarce inscribed.
