First edition, no. 25 of 325 copies published by the author. With a preface by Sacheverell Sitwell to whom, with his brother Osbert, the book is dedicated.,
Cyril Beaumont was one of the pre-eminent dance historians of the twentieth century. He published this book from his Charing Cross Road bookshop which, from 1910 until his death in 1976, specialised in all things dance. A life of Beaumont, by Kathrine Sorley Walker, was published in 2006.
